A Post-doctoral Researcher is sought to join the Gupta Lab in the Department of Internal Medicine at Rush University Medical Center. The project is to implement a novel high-throughput chemical screen and to apply candidate compounds in experimental models of inflammatory and renal diseases. We are particularly focused on a) immune cell recruitment/models of inflammation, and b) models of glomerular diseases, such as FSGS and diabetic nephropathy. Requirements: M.D. or Ph.D in Life sciences with Cell Biology/Immunology background. Mammalian cell culture, experience with small animal handling, molecular biology techniques and organizational skills are required. Prior experience required with some of the following techniques: high-throughput screening, mammalian cell culture, vertebrate biology, working with small animals, cell transfection assays, flow cytometry (FACS), molecular biology (PCR, cloning, plasmid purification, RT-PCR). Candidates must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, efficient and interact well with others as part of a team. Successful candidate must also have strong analytical, oral and written communication skills. Due to grant funding restrictions, US citizen or permanent resident (green card holder) applicants are preferred.
